If you have a strong marriage, it didn’t just happen. Keeping marriage strong takes time, focus, and intention. It takes investment in each other. Is that where your marriage is, today? Would you describe your marriage as strong, deep, loving, close, faithful, and fun? If so, that’s fantastic! But, sometimes we can treat our relationship like a guy on Wall Street hoping for a big return from the New York Stock Exchange but, there’s only on problem. He didn’t invest any money. Doesn’t make much sense yet, isn’t that how we treat our marriage, sometimes? The days, weeks, and months pass with little or no investment but there we are, still expecting a big, positive return.
There is a beautiful marriage waiting for every couple willing to invest in their marriage, valuing each other God’s way, and walking according to the Instruction Manuel (remember that Book called “the Bible” that you haven’t read in a while?). On a day-to-day basis, what does investing look like in your marriage? Are you intentional, taking concrete steps to build and cultivate your marriage, or is your relationship the victim of the pressures of life and just an “add-on” to everything else you’re doing? You want to invest in your marriage but, how do you do it?
This is our topic as we interview Jeremy and Audrey Roloff on the latest episode of FAITHFUL LIFE podcast. The Roloffs are stars of the reality TV show, Little People, Big World, New York Times Bestselling authors of A Love Letter Life, and co-hosts of the Top-Rated Behind The Scenes podcast. The Roloffs are young and have been married only 4 years with one child (Ember!) and one on the way! They live a whirl-wind life and are often far, far busier than they wish they were. With all the pressures on their marriage, they still maintain a close, loving relationship. Their marriage is not without its challenges and we go deep with them as they speak openly and authentically about their struggles and how they take specific steps when they see that their marriage is getting off-track. “Jer & Auj” also discuss one specific tool they use every week that has had a powerful, positive impact on their marriage.
We’ve known the Roloffs for several years. They are the real deal! When they lived in Bend, they attended our Church and we’ve kept in close contact ever since, taking an active role in each other’s lives. It’s a great interview! Don’t miss it!
