When was the last time you went a day without water? Never! Right? Even after several hours, we can get thirsty and start scouting for what we know we need. In fact, when it comes to what our bodies need – not to mention the stuff we don’t need but want – we’re pretty attentive to ourselves, aren’t we? Well find a way to get those things!
Then, there are matters of the heart – the heart of your wife/husband. What do they need? Because, just like that glass of water you were searching for, your spouse needs something for his/her soul every day and you have the power to give it or withhold it. And, what is that? The powerful gift of loving words – words of affirmation.
Can you remember a time when you just couldn’t let the day pass without saying something positive to your husband or wife, building them up with encouraging, supportive words that came from your heart? Have your spouse’s needs changed since that time (for some, that time long ago)?
