Everyone of the men in this group called himself “Christian” and everyone of them said pornography was sinful, was wrong, was destructive . . . and yet, everyone of them dipped into it from time to time. “Yes, it’s wrong but, I fell, again.” They weren’t proud of it. In fact, they were ashamed of it but that didn’t change things.
Why? Why did they keep walking in sin?
Does this describe you or someone you know – struggling to walk with God but regularly taking a swim in the pigpen of sexual sin (on line, reading a porn magazine, alone and fantasizing about sex, or actually sleeping with someone who isn’t his/her spouse?)
I asked these men if they were going to sin next week. Everyone of them said, “Yes . . . how can I claim I won’t sin when I know I will?” Is this what the Bible says – that you are destined to sin? . . . that sin in your life is inevitable?
Will you (Can you??) ever find true victory over the sin in your life? Your flesh will tell you “no” but the Word of God says, “YES!”
Are you spiritually weak or strong? What we believe establishes the course of your life. And it doesn’t even matter if you believe what is true or what is false. It is what you believe that animates how you will live your life.
This is why you have to decide what you believe about the sin in your life. Where will you start . . . with what God says in His Word or with how you feel? Belief is everything and it’s the difference between real spiritual power and the constantly defeated life. Ready for power to triumph? Ready for transformation?!
